  Nestled in the North Georgia Mountains, Fort Mountain State Park is a treasure to explore. What better way than with horses? Fort Mountain Stables offers several packages to suit your level of experience and desired saddle or wagon time. We offer guided horseback riding adventures on 25 miles of scenic trails, and for those who don't wish to ride, we also offer wagon rides. Our trails include old talc mine shafts where you can experience Mother Nature’s air conditioner in the summer and heater in the winter, scenic overlooks, and waterfalls. Wildlife has been known to venture out to greet their guests of the forest. During the summer months, bears are regularly seen alongside the trails. Riders also frequently see deer, turkeys, squirrel, and other wild critters.
